Forefather - The Shield-Wall

got some pretty tight riffs dude. i have the exact same guitar and am runnig it through an ibanez tbx150 head with the matching ibanez 4x12. anyway, this guitar sounds heavy and defined as hell through the amp, especially once you throw in the boss metal zone, keep it up and long live the 7 strings!

Get the RG7321. Both that and the APEX 2 are made in Indonesia (I think), plus you can always upgrade the pickups on a 7321 when you find more money.

It is good. One thing I wish it did though is the ability to import say, an mp3 to the project, and then record video (with sound) of you playing along to the sound. Like multitracking but with video as well as sound.

Well I recorded it direct onto Windows Movie Maker, using my old digital camera as a video capture. Set up the sound to pick up from the toneport. Playing a 7-string is a little more cumbersome but depends on which brand. Ibanez 7-string necks aren't too thick.

Well, the tuning was fine. And the "size" by which most people say "gauge", most guitars in the store/as they come out of the factory havd 9-42 strings, with an extra 52 in this instance. Which is shockingly light so I had to go up. I dunno what gauge I was using in this video but I now use 9 11 16 28 38 48 60

No, the Dimarzio is not stock. I thought that was obvious, really. You actually have to pay around the £1000 mark before you can get Ibanez 7s with Dimarzios as stock, and those are usually J-custom or Jem/UV models. Most of the >£200 RGs are a good canvas for better pickups though. My Dimarzio Evo 7 only cost around £65 or so as well.

when i get older i want a 7 string cuz i love the kind of metal you can make with that extra b string. you can to hardcore stuff or steve vai kind of stuff, and since its an ibanez, hopefully the prices wont fgo skyrocketing like gibson did it will be a great price. ibanez is just an awesome all around rock/metal guitar

It's a bit weird at first, because the nearest string to you is a low B, the neck is wider and the strings seem slightly closer together (apparently to reduce the width). But you get used to it eventually.

Thanks. I actually think I went over the top with the phase effect there. As for the biggest influences on specifically my clean guitar playing, I would say Devin Townsend, Alex Lifeson (Rush), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon) and a little bit of Nile Rodgers. I played bits from songs by one or two of those artists here and there on this video.
