that's why you read some of the comments from the old school brothers that have been there and done that! we had no computers, cable t.v., cell phones and all the stuff that we have now,but we had alot more creativity back in my days...peace!

Oh. Let me understand: It's ok to comment on GSH, but not if it's truly critical, is that it? Only idolatry is alolowed. Ok, then. So if it follows that GSH can comment on one addiction because he knows addiction from the "inside," that's like you calling me "fool." Right...fool?

nice man, i was never around in that era but i was born to be. putting the problems back then aside everything had more style, creativity and vibe, not like these days.

he's probably not proud of his addiction, he can relate to what it's like through experience which gives him the right to preach. plus alcoholism is far more widespread than cocaine addiction. appreciate the music fool he was touching on something that was rife within the working class black community.

Just as Marvin Gaye sung "Flyin High in the Friendly Skies." Addicts understand best what a trap addiction is. We're all addicted to something, maybe not drugs, but something.

Gil knows how to spell out the true meaning of unity, love and togetherness. Just like some of the hippies, just like Bob Marley, Gil preaches the love humanity needs to never forget to embrace. He preaches it better than most people that call themselves preachers.

Yep, someone that knows the definition of addiction as good as any junkie telling it like it is! Yeah, Gil tells a great story with every poem/song! Just check out "Home Is Where The Hatred Is" for more preaching about addiction and al it teaches anyone that goes down that path. Gill is one of the great poets, he is a living legend!

It sure does bring back memories. This song is pure genius, unlike the crap that passes as "music" today.Today, the movies suck, and the music sucks.

The lead rail car was either an R15 or R17.They both had the circle window on the storm door.
