Looks great to me! About half of the KB stuff you see here shows people doing explosive (or even not-so-explosive) SLDL with KBs. So many people are afraid to sit back both in the squat and with KBs that it leads to this, I guess. Personally, I'll risk my knees before I risk my lower back (not that I think you're doing either here).

I'm RKC certified and agree with wolfram and iceman. The knees should lock out during the KB swing, but as a result of the hip pop, rather than the hips locking out as a result of the knee lockout. The power for the swing should come from the hips, glutes, hamstrings, and hip flexor. mstehle could easily fix this by starting out with his hips higher - in fact, he may have tight hamstrings, which are limiting the power in his swing.

Oh great, Wolfram49 sounds like he really knows his stuff. Old-school squat technique is not the way to do things, it's perfectly okay to have the knees travel past the toes as long as your heels are planted and your form is good. There's also no reason he shouldn't lock his knees at the top of the motion as well, this is just old information that became gospel in any gym and it has no place in the real world especially when you consider more funtional movements.

I've admittedly never done any formal KB training (meaning never studied with anyone on this). However, I've got several years of other types of movement and strength training under my belt, and, from years of observation and experimentation, I can tell you that locking your knees during any sort of strength training is a quick way to needing knee replacements. Same thing with the knees-over-toes thing. Otherwise, I think these are great exercises.

If you're the person in the vid, a few things you might want to consider: 1. Stop locking your knees, esp. during the swings. 2. Be careful not to overextend your knees over your toes (again, swings). 3. During the cleans, as the ball drops into its final position, you're absorbing its momentum by slightly leaning back and then locking your lower back. Pay attention to your upright structure and send the momentum into the ground. Otherwise, this is a great training vid.

there is absolutely no difference between photo shop, and paint, u can do anything that photo shop can do on paint, but on paint it takes A LOT longer. The $700 bucks is worth the week of your life though :)

i had the same problem, its just a matter of hitting it as hard as you can, but you really need to turn the vol. up if ur playing it on electric, i play this on my acoustic sometimes aswell, but the vol. certainly has to be up to increase the sound it will make.

I've never seen the knit stitch made that way, I've only seen the e=wrap st. At first I thought you had made a purl until I took a better look at it. Would love to see a sampler that showed the difference between the 'knit' st as you did it and the e-wrap.

I agree with many of you....Venkat, you should not be teaching tabla...all you are doing is misleading people and trapping them with bad technique and speech which will be hard to reverse if they ever get a real teacher...there is no finesse or clarity or consistency in your playing, and i guarantee you can't play at high speeds sorry brother...i love you, but you should be the one taking lessons from a true guru

I play my Ibanez RG prestige trough an all-tube ENGL souvereign amp. I also play a Gibson ES135 trough a Roland JC90. The ENGL is great for high gain stuff, but it also has a great clean channel. With my 808tubescreamer and the clean channel the RG sounds superb! ENGL = very versatile!

try standing away from the amp. I cant rmember what causes technically but its something like the pickups pick up the sound from the amp and play it back out again if you know what i meen. OR it may be just the quality of the amp. i had a 30 watt a while ago and it just buzzed constantly when overdrive was selected. Hope i helped!

No I wash mine all the time as well. Just make sure you use gentle shampoo with conditioner, if you dont have a brush cleanser. The hair fibers will get brittle and start breaking if theyre not conditioned.

ugh i didn't clean my brushes EVER. and then i actually did take one to my school and looked at it through the micro scope and just yeah...ladies, clean them often and well!! i have to clean mine every day now. i'm so freaked by the things i saw that its not an option for me to skip a day. but, i never have used a spot cleaner. i always deep clean mine with just shampoo and water and like lather it in my hand then do it again and rinse it. will that hurt my brushes at all?
