where did you hear about this? I can see a lot better than I used to since I installed a 10,000k system under my hood. I doubt that many of the local cops even know what an HID Conversion Kit is. I know that HIDs are much more strictly enforced in England, but I haven't heard of anything from the NHTSA. Please let me know where you found out that info...

any hid kit is illegal and will not be an improvement but it would rather give you the "bling-bling" look. The garbage this guy put on his car is illegal and according to the NHTSA, they will crack down and summons fines up to 5,000 dollars... BTW, if you go above 5,000K on hid's and you're looking to see better, you're just wasting your hard-earned money.

uhh..thats a camry, not a corolla. that install was easy because you have a lot of room to work with under the hood. took me forever to install them in my Audi since there was literally no extra room at all. I had to remove both head light housings, I also had to remove the air box for the pass headlight!

We used a bolt, just remove a bolt from somewhere put the balast adapter in then bolt it back on. also some cars have a hole the perfect size of the bolt in the kit so just mount the ballast whereever thers one.

complimenti! questo mi sembra il primo, realistico tentativo -riuscito- di realizzare un veicolo a zero emissioni a costi e prestazioni accetabili, in barba alle superauto da 100000$ della Teslamotors o ai vari roiti da 30 km/h sul mercato. Possibile che un privato cittadino realizzi nel suo garage ciò che varie case automobilistiche prevedono di immettere sul mercato tra 4, 8, 20 anni a costi incredibili di ricerca??? Nice idea. Too bad the builders didn't have access to some better materials and higher efficiency batteries and a more ecological manner of charging them. Still, digging through the GOMI, you're not likely to find better. Too much time is spent on the battery tray, which anybody could fabricate, and not enough time is spent on the tuning of the drive train and the nameless "electronics" in the bike--which are much more of interest to the viewer. Good job!

Should've bolted the motor directly to the stock tranny. If it was to big than you could've gotten a smaller one (longer range) and have all your gears to compinsate for less power.

You didn't prove any point to me your argument was that with 28hp you can burn out and you can't. I said 28hp is what you need to "maintain" highway speeds on a flat surface not accelerate. What do you mean I am stuck on horsepower? Like I am the only one who knows this? An 80,000 lbs Semi puts about 100,000-200,000 ft/lbs in first to the wheels and about 900ft/lbs at the crank shaft at the same time. And quess what? And M1A1 is rated at about 50ft/lbs because its powered by a jet turbine.

Yes I saw the video and you are missing one thing. These motors are driven to much higher horsepower than 28. They are rated at 28 continuous not peak. They peak 5-6 times higher or more depending on voltage. Why are you so hooked on torque? If you want more torque you use lower gears. No one measure performance in torque since with low enough gears a field mouse can put 1000 ft/lbs to the ground. If you but them on the dyno I know for sure it will be way more than 28hp. Only horsepower matters.

He has two motors rated ~28 HP connected end to end, yet he turns 100 MPH quarter miles and puts > 1000 ft-lbs to the ground. Look for White Zombie Electric. That car has two motors rated ~20 HP connected end to end, yet he does smokey burn-outs that put gas-powered drag cars to shame. Look for Killacycle. That bike uses two 28 HP motors and goes 170+ mph in the 1/4 mile. Welcome to reality.

An engine only puts out its rated horsepower under load. An engine cannot put out 140hp while idling because that 140hp of work needs to go somewhere. I never said it did anyway. Why are you making stuff up? A 28hp motor will never be able to do a burnout or accelerate to highway speeds in a reasonable time on a 3400lbs car EVER! I can produce 400+ ft/lbs torque with my arm using a lever. Can I power a car to highway speeds or make it burnout with my arm? If I could that would be SWEEEEEET!

Ohhhh Kayyyyy The car in this video uses a 28 HP motor, which puts out about 350 ft-lbs of torque. It does a burnout, and accelerates to and maintains freeway speeds without issue. Maybe with a drag coefficient of .5 and 28hp will "maintain" 60mph on a flat road but at some point during the day a 3400lbs car will need to accelerate to that speed and that is where you need more horsepower. I have no idea why you think 28hp is enough, every car at that weight is at least 5 to 8 times that horsepower your numbers defy even common scene.

Dynos give you horsepower and torque at the wheel from the standpoint of the engine and compensate for the torque multiplier's (transmission, tranfer case, differential, etc). I have a Jeep that produces 230ft/lbs at the flywheel my transmission 1st gear is 4:1 transfer case 2.7:1 and axle 3.55:1. That 230 is multiplied to 8,818.2 ft/lbs at the wheel and yet I still can't beat a Bugatti Veyron, go figure! Before you said "horsepower is what matters" but here you correctly state that you can't have horsepower without torque. You're not going to have much horsepower without torque unless your RPM is ridiculously high. I.E. 10 ft lbs at 300,000 RPM = 571 HP, but it's still 10 ft lbs. On the other hand 300 ft lbs at 500 rpm = 28 HP, but it's 300 ft lbs.

What Christians don't understand is that people need spiritual and cultural diversity to remain healthy. If the world ever became near completely Christian and/or Western there would be no aliveness or sense of well being in the people. i got one one time, but not like the usual way of bouncing it off the back or side. for mine i curved it toward the 7 pin, barely touched it on the outside, but it was enough to send it into the ten. the 7 tilted over and just slid right into it. it was glorious if anything :) just thought i'd share

Engine removal and clean up.
Not as difficult as I thought it would be. This is an advantage with older cars
they're less complicated than newer vehicles. But their drawbacks are hard to find parts as well as discontinued parts. Thank god for E-Bay ;)

http://www.behot.com .au Third addition to my converting of my mountain bike to an electric assist bike. Motor is now mounted, and the chain is in place and functioning. Next video will see the motor spinning the wheel, although it will have no throttle at this stage, simply a direct connection to a 12v car battery!

You're absolutely right! :) The motor only had enough torque at high rpms, meaning unless i geared it down more it's just not strong enough to be practical. Since i had no other motor options, I have had a change of plans to get the bike working!

Kudos! I'm building an electric bicycle too, but I'm using a 406 Crystalyte hub motor. I'd love to use an external one just to mix things up abit, but I've already got all of my hub motor components shipped from Vancouver, BC, Canada all the way to Québec, Canada! For future reference, I highly recommend ebikes DOT ca they make an excellent on board computer called the "CyclAnalyst" that displays Energy consumption, regeneration, speed and distance.

Yes 400 watts would be a decent entry level, although even 250 can move you along ok as an assist. Unfortunately I have some bad news, the motor is quite low in torque (after a recent test) and I believe it would need about a 1/10 ratio (not a 1/4 as I have now), so im looking at my options, which is why i havnt posted for a couple of weeks now. Stay tuned, as my next video will have my solution!

I continue to follow along. Please post more footage when you can. You've been very "efficient" so far with cost. Good work. Also I wonder what the actual wattage is on that electric motor. Most people recommend around 400 watts as a starting point. Note that 1 horsepower = 746 watts.
