Comparing the Critical Mass protests to the LGBT community is about the most ridiculous thing I've heard as an excuse for these things being acceptable. If cyclists want to hold slow down protests on the roads and hog it, maybe motorists should take to wanting equal rights on bike paths or the ability to use the bike lane as a passing lane?

I completely sympathize. I just don't think it justifies blocking intersections for multiple light cycles and running red lights. I really believe in *sharing* the road and not turning it into a tug of war with cars and bikes taking turns dominating each other. And my friend and I agreed, if it had just been a bunch of cyclists going through we might have been OK with it, but two cyclists parked sideways right in front of our front bumper, TWICE, and that was really over the top.

"Self-hating"? Please. It's not that we were in a hurry, it's just infuriating to deal with people who are so arrogant as to run red lights and shut down the road by sheer force of numbers. I feel the same way about anyone who runs red lights, whether cyclists or motorists. I disagree with your tactics, and I don't think they foster good will toward bicyclists. The time it takes the bikes to go through an intersection is no longer than a freight train. I know those are also annoying to encounter, but we have one thing in common. We are traffic, and all we ask is two hours out of the month AFTER rush hour for our month of getting run off the road being intimidated constantly.

Even though we are on the street sidewalk, Police STILL hassle us and try to make us get a permit. But we held our ground and called their bluff which turned out to be nothing but an empty threat.

why doesn't this guy go up and talk to individuals, he is talking AT people not To them. He is handling the cops all wrong by being argumentative from the start. He seems to have no compassion and not a very warm guy, no wonder he gets the reactions he does. He was a gangsa rapper? that comment alone makes him lose credibility and he can get a permit to preach, the authorities ordained by God have made a way for him to preach as the officer said. Go get a permit you seem to want to be arrested.

The bottom line is that if you want to "appeal" to Caesar, then go to that community, get a petition together and get the rule changed. That's appealing to government, not going to COURT and attacking the cops for doing their job.

You'll remember that even the Apostle Paul appealed to Cesar in the book of Acts. And Romans 13 says that Government is a God ordained ministry. Lawsuits are completely legal and if a judge rules that the Police took away our constitutional rights, the Police should face consequences. To become an Officer you must swear loyalty to the Constitution. If they are not going to uphold the Constitution, they should not have badges at all. There's a reason why they don't have immunity for these cases

I think you are confused. If we are "boycotting" because we have a sticker, then once the sticker is gone we are no longer "boycotting". And if we come back the next day, it's an entirely new situation with no relation to the previous. And if the sticker is not there the next day, there is no "boycotting" of hell. What we were doing is free speech and the free exercise of religion and there is no need for a permit for that on public property. It's sad that we even need to do lawsuits in America

You keep dancing around the issue...once you displayed the sticker, it broke the rules and you had to have a permit. From then on, if you continued to speak, you had to get a permit. Just coming back the next day doesn't change the fact that you displayed it and needed a permit. You could take the high ground, get the permit, and be a peacemaker as JESUS taught. But instead you're boasting about it and mulling over a lawsuit??? Doesn't sound like a peacemaker to me.

You seem to be thinking that we were actually boycotting. The sticker was satire. Besides, we said we would put the brief case away and therefore no longer "boycott". The real issue is that the Police probably just got some phone calls of complaints and they were tired and annoyed over it so they tried to get us to leave. Because even when we went out there a couple days later, without the brief case, they still said we couldn't preach there. We are trying to settled this or continue a lawsuit.
