I don't quite think I understand your point but Calzaghe moving up to light heavy was perfectly fine. He was struggling to make weight for super middle and has matured into light heavyweight naturally, much like De La Hoya has matured as he has moved up in weight. Pacman is a 130/135lb fighter, he will actually have to try hard to get up to the 147lb mark, he just doesn't blong in the same ring as a welterweight, it is just all about money.

honestly mate, fighters put on loads of weight after the weigh in- they don't drink any water before the fight then pile it all on on the fight night. ricky hatton for example, weigh in is 140lb, when he steps into the ring, he is as high as 155lb sometimes. This is true, de la hoya will have about a stone over pacman, and pacman doesn't stand a chance, much like de la hoya never stood a chance beating hopkins for the weight difference and size difference was too great.

I think of Hatton as being the best fighter in the UK, even more so than Joe Calzaghi. The welter weight and junior welter weight class are far more competitive than super middle and are bursting with talented tough fighters. We definitly saw an improved Hatton for the Paulie fight. He was blocking alot of the shot. As Mayweather mentioned.. picking of the jab and counting with the straight right. also Jabing and blocking the left hook... Head movement and foot work to close the ring down....
