the only 2 inner engines worked on reverse thrusters becuase if you see on the video when the plane lands this thing on the 2 innner engines pull back which means the engine starts to spin the other way to slow down slowly instead of slamming on the brakes, have you ever wandered what that noise is when you land on the engines and they go really loud thats the reverse thruster

I use Heathrow maybe 2 times a year & anything that make getting to where I need to go faster is fine by me.Aviation only counts for what 4 or 5% come on people. I don't call myself a green person but I do take the bus to work and holiday in the UK I take coach or train.But any overseas holiday we in UK need to fly. Heathrow full but planes still come flying over London waiting to land burning more fuel in the air then if they was on the ground. Your not going to stop the planes so let them land

That's the point of this - we SHOULD care about it, and a lot of us do! Airlines "inevitably" becoming cleaner isn't enough to stop climate change, we need to reduce them now. Aviation may be more fuel efficient than other industries, but that does not disguise the fact that the majority of flights are unnecessary and extremely wasteful.

In my post I didn't want to express an opinion in the Third Runway matter, just about aviation being way more fuel-efficient than other industries. Aviation is THE industry that has the very best technology involving fuel use. If only other industries used the technology invented, and used by the aviation industry, then the world would be a cleaner place. If there is anything an airliner or airplane manufacturer can do to save 1 pound of fuel over 1000km, they will go very far to achieve that. If you want to stop climate change: look at the inefficient industries and cars (sell your own?). If you want the noise to stop, buy another house.

It is not clear if anyone has been injured during the incident. Emergency services are currently at the scene.
The incident happened as Prime Minister Gordon Brown was due to leave Heathrow for China and India. His flight was delayed because of the incident.

This is educational, as it shows the adjustments of thrust being made to the engine. This also makes you feel that you are in an aircraft, which is exactly what you want to feel. Lol you don't need to insult me directly ...just face it ! You weren't capable (your country) of finishing a terminal (incredibly small compared to China's) in 15 years and they did it in 3 !! Plus I was on Heathrow when the whole baggage chaos took place and trust me it fucking sucked ! YOU invested more,worked more and it didn't even work out properly in the first few days ; China's worked perfectly even from the inauguration. I did not add the reverser sounds ...I simply applied the reversers. The engine sounds you hear are not limp default FS9 sounds, but addons by skilled sound designers.....all of which are freeware.

During a phase when morale is already at an all-time low at BA across the workforce not many of the workers bothered with the extra training (can't say I blame them, why would you want to spend your days off training and not being paid by your company?). They underwent 6 months of "rigorous" tests, (tests so rigorous and extensive that in only 1 day they found problems that weren't found in 6 months). During this "training and testing" phase most of the employees were given basic training only and then given the option of further training voluntary in their days off.

People have been fed up with Heathrow for the last 10 years. BA promised everyone that T5 would solve all "the issues" thus elevating people's expectations of the new T5 terminal for years in advance of it's opening date. Against advice they elected to change over half of their scheduled flights in a single day rather than go for a phased in solution.
