Sorry but the 8400 GS is too slow you need a 8600 GT with 320Mb ram minimum. The alky project is not offical microsoft technology, so we never tested FPSC X10 with it, nor was it designed with Alky in mind. If you want full, stable Direct X 10 support you will have to upgrade to Vista.

I've just had a new sys built but have a problem. Specs 4870 512mb GPU Asus P5K MB Q6600 CPU 4GB DDR3 ram With Vista 64 I thought it would run FSX on ultra, easily but I loaded up the PMDG 747 at Mega airport Heathrow and i looked great and was fluid for about a minute, all the detail went and FSX shut down with a message saying I had run out of RAM sys info says 4GB I thought this would have been plenty, does anyone have any ideas please?

this is my first attempt with the x-10 upgrade to my smoothshooter. after using it, all i can say is "WOW".. it is 100% better than the smoothshooter, makes a HUGE difference!! it was cold and windy so that affects the shots a little bit, but overall, it looks and felt excellent!

i have been using the EX1 on my rig for the past 2 months now and its really sturdy on it. but your definetly right about the price and some quality loss. it seems like glidecam puts all their money in the arm, b/c the sled is pretty "low budget". but 8 screws hold it the stage to the sled really well. I would recomend it but if you got 5 grand more, buy the flyer LE, thats what i am buying after the summer.

Wow, great footage! I've been on the fence about getting an X-10 for my Sony EX-1, but this makes it even more tempting. My main concern is safety. Not for me, but for my camera. How sturdy and solid is the design? The Glidecam price is very affordable, but is that due to a loss in quality? I have nightmares of my EX-1 shattering on the ground after being mounted on faulty tripods and stabelizers, and I've no desire to make them come true. Thanks!

very cool. I've got a HD110 and an old Glidecam 2000 that I'm going to modify to handle the heavier HD110 plust DTE drive. AFter seeing some footage from 17x Fujionon, I'm thinking a Smooth Shooter and a couple lights is money better spent. It's funny.... it seems easier to get smooth running shots than smooth walking shots... that's what I found with my Glidcam 2000 with my Sony DV cam (now sold... I'll NEVER go back to interlaced)

i have never liked the canon x series b/c they felt awkward holding it and it didnt have an lcd monitor and the fact that it cost 8 grand. since i am a film student, i really hate the interlaced look also. canon glass is pretty amazing, but i have been very happy with the stock fuji on the hd110. is the angels concert worth 60 bucks ?

Ok, I can see you have never tried vista. Vista is not an glossy version of xp, vista does not run slow, unless your pc is 5 year old CRAP. You may think it's overrated, but to tell you the truth, the funtions in vista will surely cripple me an an windows user if I ever where to only use xp again. At first, I where as skeptic as you are now of vista. The reason you may experience slow vista, is because vista has A TON of new features, both hidden and shown. Dont hate what you dont know...

All of those features are in DX9. Apart from soft shadows and particles and volumetric lighting. This can be enabled in DX9 in Crysis however so DX9 is capable of it. MICROSOFT AND NVIDIA ARE PAYING DEVELOPERS TO RESTRICT NEXTGEN FEATURES IN DX9. Thankyou :)

If you don't have Vista you can have a directx 10 video card but XP has only Dx9. And Directx 10 and Directx9 has differences only on max quality. You can have dx10, If you run a game on low,it doesn't matter. And if it's Call Of Duty 4 you can run it(i'm not 100% sure).

If you have a smaller size camera, i would go with the pilot. the iso-elastic arm is way better than glidecam's arm. I am buying the flyer pretty soon b/c of its way nicer than the x-10 will ever be. but i will say that the x-10 is really awesome for the price. I have enjoyed using it.

True. But you can make videos look pretty nice on here too. If you're using Apple Compressor, compress the footage to H.264 for Apple TV. The picture comes out crystal clear on youtube. Looks great.

What do you mean? Have you seen the HD footage uncompressed? Also, make sure you watch it in High Quality. The PMW-EX1 shoots beautiful footage and I have the same setup as you! It's great but I'm also waiting on my Letus Extreme, which should be the best thing ever!
