no anti-anxiety drug cures the problem. Some people need to utilize them so they can seek counsel to address the underlying issue. Also, not everyone becomes addicted. A person who becomes addicted has a predisposition and that makes them more susceptible.I don't think we should be judging someone who uses this drug. Drugs don't fix the problems...but they sure take the edge off so a person can begin that process. Don't be ignorant!

The "sleep" you are getting from Zanax is not REM sleep. Infact you dont get past the first 2 stages. I used to take Zanax, clonapin, valume and a host of other anti depressants.I never took more than one at a time and they were ALL hard to get off of. BUT ZANAX and clonapin and valume were especialy THE WORST! Benzodiazapine withdrawl can last even after being clean. I am not tyring to scare you but you need to taper off NOW!Use natural remedies. They are out there and they work.

I've used Xanax CORRECTLY for 11 years. Trick is to never take it more than 2 days in a row. It still works perfectly for me when needed and I occasionaly don't use it for several days at a time. Don't ABUSE it and know your body. Maybe some people are more susceptible to Benzo's than others. I do sypathize with addicts and know that Xanax is quite pleasureable. Don't abuse Xanax and it's a wonder drug...

I can take Xanax as long as I need, weeks or months, and never feel withdrawl when I just stop cold turkey. It helps me INCREDIBLY with my panic attacks and anxiety. I have NEVER felt withdrawl at ANY dose...from .025 mg to 2 mg per day. One must know their personality type. I do NOT have an addictive personality to ANY substance.

I am glad it is working for you. It worked for me as well until tolerance developed. Keep that in mind - that your dose may need to be increased and you may no longer wish to take it anymore. Taper slowly should you get to that point.

I have been on Xanax on and off for over a year, and all i have to say is its a total life saver. I have taken it everyday for periods at a time and have never had withdrwal symptoms. However keeping in mind that i have never used it to get high and always try to use the minimum dose that will help the anxiety. I have tried SSRI's with no success. It's too bad this drug is so widely abused. I know it wont help everyone, but there are people out there who it helps tremendously.

if taken in correct dosage this drug is is excellent for people genuinely suffereing with a panic disorder, it should not be taken in any other circumstance. end of discussion! if far more healthier to take a small dosage of xanax, than taking alcohol, you dont end up with ur inside fuckt up in the long run and a hangover the nxt day, the key is to take it correctly when only deemed necessary.

how can u tell someone to stick to alcohol, xnax has is a clinically proven drug, and it is an excellent drug when taken in moderation. its only when u abuse it that it becomes a problem, taken correctly, u dont get a hangover or damage to ur internal organ that a lifetime of alcohol would do.
