Oh sure Willie and ballot boxes in the bay ring a bell. Is Gavo doing a better job than Willie? Maybe, but the difference is hardly discernable to human perceptions. Gavin has tasked himself to being a moral crusader. That sounds great, but what does that get us? Illegals that should be long gone get to stay to commit homicides, officers are STILL suspended over 1000 days later. But why should I shout you down? I would be much more interested to hear why in particular you support Mr. Newsom.

Look I feel bitter when you don't give the respect the Mayor Gavin deserves. We elected this mayor, only after we were FED up with Mayor Willie Brown. Does that ring logic into your ears, iam501dsr? Gavo and Heather hung 7 officers out to dry. Their punishment doesn't fit what they describe as an offense. The offense? Officers proving that they have a sense of humor still. And you better thank God that they do. It means they're still sane - thank God Gavo and Heather put an end to sanity! This would be the start of my distrust of both, but I don't have the space to list other reasons I cannot stand either. As for Harvey Milk and George Moscone, no one deserves what happened to them.

In an outrage he tries to "pickup" on a woman officer staring at her breasts and hugging her while slipping his card into her pocket. I hope you have enough logic to not compare our beloved mayor to the former president Bill Clinton. Its a shame when you are using your judgement to paint our mayor as unflattering. Forget what ever harm he has done in the past and get with it in the present. He's our mayor and nothing will change our views of him.

Venniey, this is why it is questionable to make comments if you aren't aware. The morale that needed to be lifted was because earlier that year Officer Issaac Espinoza was murdered at point blank range as he stepped out of his car. Additionally, as long as we are speaking about the job this mayor has done, and not his sexual deviations...how about the fact that more SFPD officers have died on Mayor Newsom's watch than since the days of Civil Rights Riots.

Sure, Newsom's diddling an employee was bad judgment but should have been left as a private matter, a la Bill Clinton and Monica. Cops having plenty of time on their hands and using public property and taxpayer's time to make films making fun of homeless, trannies, and racial minorities: that's wrong on many levels.
