David Ruffin, Eddie Kindricks, Dennis Edwards, nor Ollie Woodson either singularly or put together had the success that Bobby Brown had musically from 1988-1991 by himself just off the Don't Be Cruel album. I haven't even threw in BBD's solo efforts, Ralph Tresvant, or Johnny Gill's solo albums. As a group, yeah, the Tempts are probably better than New Edition because they are model for modern R&B groups. They have plenty of hits as does New Edition, but lets not get carried away with claims.

Without a doubt, the Temptations were the prototype R&B group with major success together. New Edition obviously followed them and have paid homage to them and J5 as their inspirations. However, to compare solo successes of the two groups and say the Temptations group members as solo acts have had greater success than that of New Edition members' solo acts is incorrect. I understand that we want to hype up our era of music on these boards, but the facts speak for themselves.

That was one of the reasons she was hesitant about touring again because of some of the comments that are posted here. She has gone through a lot of family ordeals taking care of and nursing sick parents who eventually died (adoptive as well as birth)and the end of her marriage. So it is possible that she didn't have a lot of time for self or running to the gym!

I love this woman. I listen to no one else but her. Seen her 8 times, recently in Baltimore, 8/15---absolutely flawless. She sang 'Body and Soul' and that was it for me.
