Beautiful rendition of this Steve Porcaro (from Toto) composition from the MJ album "Thriller". Miles Davis really puts his personal style into it.
By: samwisethree. on 29 Nov 08, 03:30:06
I like a lot of early-ish MJ stuff but am rather ignorant about it, to be honest my heroes from that era are Rodgers and Edwards. The production is sublime, right up there with Sir Quincy in my humble opinion.
By: ClaireIzDuck. on 29 Nov 08, 03:24:45
Ahahaha! That's no good indeed! My first guess was Quincy anyway! I knew MJ didn't have his name on that, couldn't remember who did though =D

I bow to your superior experience. Ahem. Typical of me to go running my mouth off on a subject that I have such sketchy knowledge about. Sorry, it won't happen again. I've only got one scrotum, and thats now gone so all bets are off. Heehee. :o]

I fear your manhood will never be the same again! The inside cover of Thriller has Steve Porcaro & John Bettis as the creators of this wonderful piece of music. Also worth noting Porcaro is one of two Synth players on the Thriller album version of Human Nature =)
By: samwisethree. on 28 Nov 08, 16:19:16
Would bet my nutsack that Sir Quincy is the person to blame. hehe.
By: ClaireIzDuck. on 28 Nov 08, 10:19:41
It was indeed Michael Jackson - Thriller album. I don't think Jackson wrote it though, can't be bothered getting the sleeve out, chances are probably as Quincy.

Didn't he die in 1992?
By: ruben1956. on 26 Nov 08, 23:01:41
Mr. Marsalis, you know, what Miles wrote about Wynton in his Autobiography?
By: chakasong. on 26 Nov 08, 02:23:13
well, this was right before he died, so, i guess, ya kno..... he'll always be loved tho...
By: tommyk77. on 25 Nov 08, 21:20:20
He looks so different here than in his early days. Is this a masterpiece performance or a sad story of conformity? Who knows. I like it
By: stcleonard. on 24 Nov 08, 23:41:51
thats horrible poster at 0:40
By: lranders4. on 23 Nov 08, 05:19:45
This is far from a "fiasco", rather evidence of Miles' changing direction every 5 years or so. I applaud him for not spending his entire career playing "My Funny Valentine" over and over....
By: TonyRoq. on 18 Nov 08, 12:45:04
Greetings, Miles! Tell me what Miles moves you most! And, by the way, did your parents have a favourite Miles' 'period' or did they dig it all? I'm curious. Thanks!
By: musicalbasics. on 17 Nov 08, 14:05:00
i actually think this music is pretty good.
By: BuckshotLaFunke. on 16 Nov 08, 21:34:37
I didn't know this - funny!
By: jerec576. on 15 Nov 08, 01:04:41
He constantly changed. People would come to his concerts after hearing the famous old albums and be disgusted cause it was nothing they would expect.
