You're right, HeyHoLetsGoGuitar, this is NOT supposed to be a cheery, ho-ho-ho Christmas song. It's a WAR PROTEST song! If you'll notice, I said "Evil men LOVE War". Usually when a bad person gets into power, he can easily manipulate the situation to start a war either externally against neighboring countries, or internally against undesirable groups, like say Jews (Germany) or Blacks (USA) or dark-skinned Muslims (Darfur) or Christians vs. Muslims (Kosovo) or Catholics vs. Protestants (N.Ireland). The list goes on & on! An evil man at the levers of power can wield the power of the State against many groups.
